You Just Can't Trust Those Other Guides.
But you CAN trust Local Wally! I'm the original Local Guy who wrote the first Local Guide on San Diego. I know what I like when I go on a vacation, and I know San Diego. You can count on me to show you the essential stuff to do - and the stuff to avoid. Oh sure, other guides might tell you about this really quaint mountain town where you can get killer apple pie. But Local Wally will tell you to skip the 3 hour drive through Hell, buy that same Julian Pie at the supermarket, and head to the beach instead. I know you're here to relax, and when you're paying for a big vacation, time really IS money so let's not waste it doing stupid stuff.

YOUR BEST VACATION...EVER!
If you've been to San Diego, you might find some of my ideas a little "touristy". Well, for those of you who are almost natives, do as the locals do - - - hang around the beach and r-e-l-a-x during the day, then find a restaurant that fits your mood. Take in a play or concert in the evening, or go explore the shopping in La Jolla or Horton Plaza. Try different beaches, check out some museums, and have a Southern California "laid back" sort of trip.
For the first time or less experienced visitor, there is so much good stuff to do that you might have trouble deciding which ones to do and which ones to skip. That's why you need LOCAL WALLY! So put on your flip flops, check the SPF, and let's go! Water temp is 70 degrees, the air temp is a nice 72 degrees, the sky is free of clouds and you're on vacation!

Let Wally guide you to the best stuff, the stuff you won't want to miss, the stuff that makes this a San Diego vacation! Info on the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, Old Town, LegoLand, and much more. And yes, Discount Ticket Information is there as well. |

There's a ton more to San Diego than the Big Attractions. Ever take a sunset drive to a lighthouse? Ever seen a stingray up close, or put your finger into a sea anenome just to bug the little creature? How about winetasting - done that yet? You see, many of San Diego's smaller attractions are pretty darn cool. Wally gives you the scoop on the smaller attractions worth your time here. |

There's so much to SEE that you might forget that there is also a ton of stuff to DO! If you ever wanted to jump off a cliff in a hangglider, or float over the coast in a hotair balloon, or snorkel in a marine reserve, or even take a dive into a sunken ship, yes, San Diego has all of this too! |

Newly Expanded for 2006! North San Diego County is defined as Del Mar to Oceanside. Filled with great little beach towns, local hangouts, and cool attractions, you'll want to make sure that you spend a day traveling up the coast along historic Old Highway 101 for an experience that might be the highlight of your trip! |

Join Wally as he journeys to Mexico in search of Puerto Nuevo Lobsters! You'll drive through the worst part of San Diego into Tijuana where you'll see poverty and corruption, then take the toll road down to a wonderful Mexican village where you'll dine on incredibly tasty lobster. It's more fun than perhaps I make it sound (can that be??), but it's an incredible day trip for the adventurous. Follow Wally to the "bugs"! |
